Through its sophisticated footprint analytic software and proprietary sensor floor technology, Stepscan® supports biomechanical profiling in virtual training environments.
With the ability to capture and analyze the full spectrum of natural movements, and the potential to track multiple subjects simultaneously, Stepscan® can enhance a virtual training simulation by providing untethered movement and continuous tracking in an unobtrusive system. The result is a more immersive virtual environment that can provide crucial biometric data such as the speed and reaction time of subjects, subject positioning and stance during engagement, and team coordination during maneuvers.
Stepscan® can measure a subject’s reaction time, foot position or stance, and coordinate movement in the training space - all while allowing unprecedented freedom of movement during virtual training scenarios.
As an input device, Stepscan® pressure sensitive floor tiles (combined with its footprint detection and classification algorithms) allow the trainee to interact with and control the simulated environment through his/her walking patterns.
