ViTRAK’s commitment to continuing Research and Development of its movement tracking and analysis technology is again demonstrated with the recent announcement of funding of up to $45,546 through the National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).

The funding will support ViTRAK’s efforts to further develop its patented pressure sensitive floor system with the evaluation and characterization of new and emerging sensor elements.

ViTRAK CEO Crystal Lavallee notes that “Sensor technology is advancing at a rapid pace resulting in vast improvements in product reliability, longevity, safety and overall system performance. ViTRAK is pleased to have the support of the Canadian Federal government in evaluating some choice technologies with high potential to enhance the company’s core product; Stepscan®”.

The Stepscan® gait analysis flooring system and supporting software is a medical device used for the assessment of the level of mobility impairment in patients.
